Scope & Content |
One (1) item Certificate. Wood, cotton, paper, and glass. This is a certificate from Pope Pius XI. It is a document that appoints Reverend Cornelius Brennan as Domestic Prelate 1933. Pope Pius XI's stamp is in the lower right corner. There is a cotton liner on the inside. It has Roma, and a red cross and a white fleur de leis embroidered on both sides of the Roma. The embroidery is in a BEVO style that was common in Europe in the 1930's and 40's. The backing on this piece is also interesting. It is cardboard and has a depiction of a woman's face. It is an advertisement for a magazine published by McFadden Publishing. The price listed is $0.25. McKelvey Number 635 |
